Recipes for a flavorful start to 2025
Welcome to the New Year with a celebration of bold southern flavors, smoked meats, and Houston BBQ traditions. Whether you’re planning a backyard Texas BBQ featuring Lone-Star state ingredients or looking for creative ways to use Goode Co.’s poultry rub, we’ve got you covered.
From crowd-pleasing smoke-pulled-pork sliders to the sweet indulgence of a pecan pie, the following recipes are designed to kick off your year with a burst of flavor and creativity. So, roll up your sleeves, embrace new BBQ recipes, and make 2025 your most delicious year yet!
Smoked Pulled-Pork Sliders
These delicious pulled-pork sliders are tiny yet warm sandwiches filled with shredded pulled pork and served with whatever BBQ sides and sauces you desire.
Slider Ingredients:
1 dozen of slider buns
3 cups of pulled pork from Goode Co.’s Slow Smoked BBQ Ribs
1/2 cup barbeque sauce, like our Original, or if you’re feeling adventurous, try our Heavy Garlic BBQ Sauce. Use more or less depending on how saucy you want the sliders.
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic or onion salt
Slider Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F.
-
Slice each bun in half, remove the tops, and put them to the side.
-
Arrange the bottom halves of the buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
-
Spread the pulled pork evenly over the buns, drizzle with BBQ sauce (optional), and place the bun tops back on.

In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix the butter, Worcestershire sauce, and onion salt.
-
Microwave for 30–60 seconds until the butter is fully melted.
-
Carefully pour the butter mixture over the tops of the buns, or use a spoon to spread it evenly.
-
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Let the sliders cool before serving.
Honey-Jalapeno Glazed Brisket
Please note that Goode Co.’s brisket is already cooked; it needs to be warmed up.
Glazed Brisket Ingredients:
1 brisket cut or Goode Co. Classic Mesquite Smoked Brisket
1 tablespoon Rib Rub
2 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of spicy dill pickle juice
4 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup Honey Jalapeño Rib Glaze* (see below)
Honey Jalapeno Glaze Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of butter
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup of vinegar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
Slices of fresh jalapeño (optional)
1 cup Jalapeno Garlic BBQ Sauce
Smoked Ribs Instructions (if you’re not using Goode Co.’s ribs):

Set your grill temperature to 225°F.

Season both sides of the ribs with our Mesquite Mix rub.
-
Place the ribs on the grill and smoke for 2.5 hours.
-
Take the ribs and lay them on a sheet of aluminum foil.
-
Add the butter, some honey, and vinegar over the ribs before sealing them tightly in the foil.
-
Return the foiled ribs to the grill.
-
Increase the temperature of the grill to 275°F.
-
Cook until the thermometer's internal temperature reads 200°F.
-
Delicately remove the ribs from the foil and generously brush their sides with the glaze (recipe below).
-
Return the ribs to the grill for 13-15 minutes to set the glaze.

Slice the ribs and serve.
Honey Jalapeno Rib Glaze Instructions:
-
Using a pot, sauté sliced fresh jalapeños in butter until cooked through over medium heat.
-
Add the honey, brown sugar, and our Jalapeno BBQ sauce, stirring to combine.
-
Once the mixture is boiling gently, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes until thickening.
-
Transfer the glaze to a bowl and let it cool.
BBQ Sausage Peppers and Baby Potatoes Skillet
Please note that Goode Co.’s Sausage Sample is already cooked; it needs to be warmed up.
Skillet Ingredients
4 links of sausage or Goode’s Sausage Sampler
1 tbsp of canola oil
2 tbsp Goode Co.’s steak seasoning or brisket rub
3 sliced bell peppers
1 sliced red onion
1lb of baby potatoes (look for a microwavable package)
¼ cup of Goode’s Original BBQ Sauce
¼ cup of chicken broth
Skillet Instructions
-
Fry the sausages in a skillet until they are browned on the outside, usually 3-4 minutes per side.
-
Cook the baby potatoes according to the package cooking instructions and set aside.
-
Remove the sausages from the skillet and wipe it with a paper towel.
-
Add canola oil, sliced onions, and peppers, and cook over medium heat until tender-crisp, usually 3-4 minutes.
-
As the peppers and onions are cooking, slice your sausages.
-
Add steak seasoning, sliced sausages, potatoes, barbeque sauce, and chicken broth to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the flavors have come together and the sauce has coated potatoes, peppers, and sausages.
Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie Sundaes
Sundae Ingredients:
1 cup of chocolate chip ice cream
1/2 cup chocolate shell
1 cup rum raisin ice cream
2 tablespoons chopped pecans
Sundae Instructions:

Scoop rum raisin and chocolate chip ice cream onto the pie, alternating flavors.

Work quickly to prevent the ice cream from melting, then freeze the pie until firm (approximately 30 minutes).

Drizzle a chocolate shell over the ice cream.
-
Sprinkle the top with pecans.
-
Freeze the pie again until the ice cream is firm (approximately 1 hour).
